Anyone Working On A Turbo? (3.0)
Come on I know someone is out there, and if not who has turboed the 3.0 CL or Accord? Ive only seen one and thats that girl that was on v6performance.........anyone else? After I get my basic mods done I think im going to make one, I know its been just a dream to many, but I can weld all the piping, I just dont know enough about them to make one work. Also what turbo would be the best for this engine and how much boost can it handle?
Also pics would be extremely helpful, ive only seen two different setups

they dont make dr evil trannies for our cars, only for the accords. I've tried and spoke with them. Their trannies seem to be a bit different than ours. I don't know why they couldn't tell me what was different. I asked them if they could custom make me a clutch kit and they never got back to me.

Right now I dont have the money, but once I get headers, pulleys and exhaust ill start saving and then start it asap. Like I said I can most likely make all of it by myself, I just am going to need to find out as much info as I can on how to make it work, and also I need to find the right turbo for this application any ideas?

well i hope you have electronics skills, a mandrel bender and a source for some good pipes, as well as a large pocket for the turbo accessories like wastegate, bov, as well as someone to make the manifolds for you... look at what allmotor did, you would have to follow much the same path

I know a guy who did tranny swap out of 97 3.0CL into 98 Accord V6. He said mounting points were different but tranny housing already had unthreaded holes to match mounting points on 98 Accord. And for gear selector he had to make some kind adaptor (or something) to attach cable to gear selector shaft, I don’t know all details.

it is the same rebuild kit and torque converter between ours and the accord v6. the only problem is the gears. if the outer shape of the x-mission is different then all the shafts inside (3) will be different lengths. however since the v6 accord has the same rebuild kit it has the same clutch packs and the same ammount of clutches inside so the shafts couldnt be that big of difference. im pretty sure they put stronger gears inside also. i think it could be done, maybee if they merged the parts that are essential to a higher power change with the parts that dont go out, it could be possible. in fact ill call them and see if they will sell me an evil kit so maybee i could do my own evil rebuild (since im prolly the only dude on this board that has ever rebuilt thier own tranny) and save myself 2-3g's..... ill get back with yall. with prices or what not

you'd be spending more money on the tranny and turbo setup than you would just buying 2 more 3.0's or a better car with a turbo.. not worth it... and i dont think it would produce much neways... the 3.0 has enough pep in its step for my liking... so... but if you feel like throwin down the money for it, ill give you props...

The 3.2 CL-S got plenty of gains and it was definatly worth it for that car, and yes, I know I have a different car. So if I can get into the 13s then ill be happy. Also a car like a s2000 or something isnt really unique if it was turboed....alot of people have them. I want a fast unique car not just a popular car with a turbo that anyone else could get on it. Also what do you think would be better: 6speed CL swap or Dr. Evil transmission?

well if i were going to dump a ton of money into the cl i guess id go all the way and go for the six speed and the turbo... make sure you do good research and find the proper turbo size, allmotor proved that turbo choice is key...

How much work do you think is going to have to be done in order for the 6 speed swap to work. Ive seen the threads at v6performance, but will it be harder for the CL? Also how much whp can that thing take? And right now I dont have much knowledge about turbos, but I am reading everything that I can find. If you guys got any ideas that could help me please share, even if you think there obvious. And like I have said this project is definatly going to take awhile and I might not start on it for awhile due to planning, $, ect. Thanks guys keep your info comming!

i think the guy with the cl-s is pushing 425hp. our motors are accually pretty well made. we got internally balanced crank, one piece piston rods like the srt-4 (which is why they can take up to 500+ hp.) we also got big water jackets around the pistons which means optimal cooling the intake is self equalizing which means all the cylinders get around the same ammount of intake air. and our pistons are pretty heavy for alluminum. i think we could take 10-15 lbs of boost safely. and prolly up to 20 at the when u want that extra nut. its just our trannys that hold us back.

what about the 6 speed tranny? how much can that handle.......safely? I dont want to get that and then later decide to go with the Dr. Evil tranny? And also how much faster would the quarter mile time be with the 6 speed tranny over the Dr. Evil tranny, like .3 seconds?
