My shop quoted me 4 grand for everything, but that was paid by the insurance co. so he may have hiked it up a bit. Be prepared to spend at least 3000 for a good job.

Your car + 6k + other mods = better car
I can't see spending almost 75% of a car's value on the paint!?

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
i got quoted 7g for everything shaved, roof gutters, door guards, molding the ring around the handles and the hood quiters
in a midnight blue color
that is a hookup since i work for enterprise and i hook up the shop a lot for rates and shit and i might get sponsored by the local paint shop, just have to have a sticker on the bac windshield of the anem of the paint shop
i wouldnt mind 20" long by 8-10" tall window sticker
it would be a contract hing i would keep it on a year and maintain the sticker myself, if it gets damaged i would replace it and the price to get it done with be like katanas

Thats his, mines in the background.
For just a stock repaint, expect around 2k. Once you start shaving, molding, etc etc, the price rises drastically. Also expect to pay more for non-factory paint. Even though mine is Acura paint, it ran close to a 1000/gallon, according to my body guy. Shit gets crazy expensive.

I got mine painted a two summers ago, i paid about $3500 but that included a little body work, just dent removal and stuff, nothing major. I had it done by the autobody shop that is owned by my local dealer adn to be quite honest i am very disappointed in the paint. I had it repained the stock black after some fockers egged my car and really it has not looked the same since. If you are getting it painted make sure that you leave open the possibility that you will not like the result, I did not do this and when I got my car back and it looked nothing like I expected I was very diasppointed. Also I would look into the paint that is being used. When my CL was painted they used the Acura Nighthawk Black that the car was originally painted with, the paint job/paint on the car is not that great to begin with and when it is applied outside of the factory I am convinced that its even worse. My car looks dull and the paint lacks any sort of luster, and I baby my car. Make sure that you are taking it to a reputable body shop that will take pride in their work and make sure they do it right. Unfortunately with my body shop I was just another customer, and quite honestly I dont think that they cared that I was dissatisfied, they only cared that they got my check.

Damn, the orange paint definately looks nice. I'm familiar with your car Katana, but I don't remember seeing Bdiddy's paint job before. You Florida CLers are showing off some real nice paint on your rides. I couldn't get a paint job like that myself and drive daily through the Canadian winters without fucking it up.

what Meucci says is true...you have to get to know the people there, and make sure they do a good job. Always try to go with word of mouth and see some previous examples of their work. And dont take the car back until you're satisfied.

I did the same thing. Guy at the shop worked it out so he could fix my two doors that were smashed and still re paint the whole car. Sadly, he is no longer at that shop because of things like this and I need to get my rear bumper re-done.
also, my rates did not go up because my car was hit during the night when it was parked on the street. They can t raise your rates for that.

Sounds like your clear got sprayed half dry.. any good clear should leave a higher gloss than the factory paint, I had to start thinking of ways to dull my bumper cover down to match. The resin that the paint is made from is more important than the colour. For my car I would only re-clear, not re-colour coat because how would one paint the door jambs. I don't think they used a primer at the factory on the front bumper cover I seem to get more chips there than anywhere else.

Seems like all you guys are getting ripped off... here in pensacola we can get our custom paint job for 2000 with pearl if you want for no additional price... and that comes with shave doors, and everything painted except the inside engine bay. if you gonna pay 6000 for a paint job, i rather ship the car over here...
