Sorry for your loss chris

*cough cough* points at sig. just waiting on cocao to hook me up with some info so I can get his tranny to send in as the core.

On a side note. I't s not so much that the stock tranny will fall apart under boost (which it will), but a turbo setup was under production a while ago for the 3.0 accords, and the problem was that when the turbo spooled up the stopck tq convertor couldn't handle the sudden onset of all that power and went into "frenzied koniptions" making it pointless.

so even if you did make one on the stock tranny and were willing to keep replacing it when it broke, it still couldn't handle it.

AS for not turboing ANY automatic. The fastest 1/4 mile cars are auto. A computer will always shift faster than any human can. Not to mention with the auto, WHEN it shifts, it never looses the boost, because you don't have to let off the gas, and thus you don't have to worry about turbo lag regardless of the turbo size.

If i go along and do the turbo setup I am going to swap to a manual tranny first when cocoa gives me the details on what all has to be done, trust me I know that the stock tranny sucks i went through 2 and this one i had a guy "beef" it up from what he told me and it seems to handle a little HP and handles spray decent but im still not going to risk it with a turbo setup............... sorry to hear that cocoa

no clue, depends on how strong i build the motor and the amount of boost i push........... i don't really care if it doesn't produce insane numbers but somewhere around 275-300 would be nice. If i dont get the numbers i would like then i will hook back up the bottle and blow the damn thing up until i get something respectable.......haha

You talking about Logan(Mntbkr)?

Sent you a pm with enough info I feel. Hope it helps.

It's pretty much straight forward like I said. The two main problems you'll run into is, getting custom piping for the kit, and then getting all the parts needed for the 6 speed swap. But Aidan can get you those parts at a price.

Also, .net is currently building a custom twin turbo kit. You should wait for their prototype and see how it does.

EDIT: in the link above there is a post of the guy who turbo'd his car:

he had a turbo setup at one point

not sure where you are getting your information from but there are 4 turbo cl type s' and two turbo tl(me being one of them). None of us have spent 10,000 on our setup so I'm not sure where you are getting your numbers. It's expensive however keep in mind most of the stuff has to be custom made such as the manifold and intercooler piping.

FYI, i believe he ran the car @ the track once with his original setup and hit a 12.9 with a little t3/t4 turbo. Currently one guy is putting down 464whp on his stock motor and recently ran his car at the track and got a 13.4. @ 114mph..wonderful trap speed however et wasn't that good because of traction issues and also not a good 60 foot. 114mph is a trap speed for a mid 12 and he was only running 8psi at that point.

Point is, if someone has the funds to spend and they want to do something different on the car then why not? I know you said, "IMO" ..but I took the dive and did the custom turbo setup and don't regret it one bit.

you Cocoa, you seem to be about the only person with a 6 speed swap so this is directed at you. Are the parts you were telling him to get for his j30a or for another engine?
