I'm right @ 73k miles on my 1997 3.0 CL. I'm going to be selling this to my nephew soon and he was asking if I used synthetic (I don't). He says that he will probably use synthetic but isn't sure. Just wondering if anyone here has an opinion. Would it extend the engine life at all to make the switch now or is it too late in the game for it to make a significant difference?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It's never to late to switch.

Your engine will still benefit a great deal by switching over. 73K is not as much as you may think for these engines.

Thanks for the reply... would you recommend 5W-30 or 10W-30? I live in Kansas City if that makes a difference.

Since you don't have any prolong periods of extreme weather, hot or cold, I'd use whatever the owner's manual suggests. I thnk its 5W-30 but check anyway.
