Funny you say that, cause that is exactly what I was thinking. I really wanted an R34 after the Z and did a lot of research of getting one over here but in the end I settled with an S2000 with a carbon fiber Mugen hardtop.

edit: After rereading the thread, I'm not sure if you meant the Z was no Nissan R34 or if the VW R32 is no VW R34.

they're all good. Love the Z's, it's seems anymore all I see are nice ones, the beaters seem to be dead now, at least in my locale. Though I'm seeing many a CL with rear quarter rust like I'm getting, so feel lucky... I must say that's a nice s2k

Is this a "car after your CL" thread? Cuz I do have another car that I love, but I most certainly haven't moved on as my bank account reminds me of regularly lol. She WILL return!

She'll be back...

Nice to see some old Zs owners in here.

Ghettoninja, we have almost the exact same history.

After I lost the Z, I picked up a silver S2000. Which did you like better?

Looks pretty clean! How did you "loose" it?
Well I didn't have a twin turbo so the S is definitely leagues better but I have driven a couple twin turbos. Still definitely perfer the S though. More of a proper sports car and way more fun to drive.

Into a concrete pole while autocrossing.

Even though my Z was fully built and upgraded, I actually enjoyed the S2k a lot more just like you. If the S2000 had maybe 50 more NA hp, I think it would have been the perfect car. I'm an idiot for selling it.

I don't know why anyone would want to sell one. After getting a new car every year I didn't think I'd ever come across a car I want for an extended period of time. Well I think I found it I agree about the 50+HP thing. I plan on a bolt on supercharger kit. Already got a competition stage 2 clutch in with an ultra lightweight (8.8lbs) flywheel.

Prices are starting to go up on them now too. I picked mine up at the perfect timing. If anyone out there is looking for an S2000 now is the time to buy!

My G/F is looking for a sports coupe to play with, she says she wants an e36 M3 coupe but I'm trying to see if she'll like the S2K. I think it would be a lot of fun to play with for her, although the fact that I've beaten several of them makes her want an M3 instead lol.

I loved my e36 M3 for the 2 months I had it. It ran great for a few weeks then went all downhill.. I wish I was into cars as much as I am now when I had it. Probably wouldn't have let it go. It's funny that the CL was the car that got me into modding/racing haha

I'm sure she'll be happy with either cause they are both beautiful cars pretty equally matched. (m3 is a little quicker but s2k handles a little better) If it's more straight line speed shes looking for then she might be better off with a 350Z or 300ZX Twin Turbo.

But IMHO, none of those cars that I mentioned are as FUN and reliable as the s2k. Just remember, whatever car she gets, you're the one that is going to have to be working on it and I would MUCH rather work on an s2k than an m3 that's for sure..

Lol I agree, you'd be hard-pressed to find cars as reliable as a Honda. But being that I'm a BMW Master Tech, I would be perfectly fine working on the M3, especially since I have one of my own. They're pretty easy to work on actually, you'd be surprised. A ton easier than the newer cars, that's for sure lol. But I do have a curiosity for the S2K, so we'll see. In the end its her choice because it'll be her car, and she'll actually be the one working on it, just w/me supervising lol.
