alignment off but its not my "alignment"

my cars pulling to the left. especially at high speeds. i brought it to the shop and he aligned my tires.. 80 bucks. didn't work so i brought it back he said he put it on the machine and it said its aligned.. still pulling left. guy said my frame could be bent but its never been in an accident.. what could it be then? :hurl: .

brian6speed 12-03-2004 08:43 PM

maybe just the steering wheel needs to be aligned :dunno:

DrDre1443 12-03-2004 09:14 PM

is your car lowered?

Do you have stock wheels with OE size tires?

doesn't matter what size rims or tires he's running...

i know this sounds like a stupid fix but check your tire pressures

are you the first owner and are 100% sure there's no frame damage?

hmmm...that's all i could think of..goodluck though

cl-baller201 12-03-2004 09:30 PM

you notice how we take our cars to a shop, then they do work without really knowing if the work is gonna fix the problem. And they do it anyway

:kick:
thas how they kick ya in tha ballz

leamanda 12-03-2004 09:57 PM

check for uneven tire wear as well

cl_jay 12-03-2004 10:02 PM

$80 for alignment wow thats really expensive
here in south tx its around $20-$30

acleco 12-03-2004 10:40 PM

do you drive a lot of passengers around? i wonder what the maximum weight load is.

DigiBox 12-03-2004 10:53 PM

If you have performance tires that can only travel in one direction, you can try flip-flopping the tires from side to side. It might work.

That's amazing.

In NJ it's never below $65.

baka_t 12-03-2004 11:43 PM

The tires are prolly following the road, if you have directionals.

conquest80 12-04-2004 01:46 AM

$80 is cheap up in the northeast for an alignment. i don't have it lowered and my rims are 16's with toyos.. they arn't old enough to be replaced either. i'm starting to think my shops machine is off. i'm gonna look into the steering wheel centering possibility also. i've only had the rig a couple months. 97 2.2 5 spd. i'll be adding some mods soon. i'm not into the cosmetic mods but more the hp add ons and suspension upgrades

My local acura dealer got one of these machines, and it did wonders in correcting my pull problems:

There is a locate function on the website to tell you who has the StraightTrak.

check the distance between the 2 wheels (front and rear wheel) on each side and see if the measurement is that same.

BEETROOT 12-05-2004 07:59 PM

sounds stupid... but did you check the tire pressure?

Motohip 12-05-2004 08:43 PM

Don't be offended when I ask you this, but...are you husky? Cause usualy if they see someone who's big, they'll put sandbags in the drivers seat and then allign it. If they didn't do that then the allignment will be off once you get in. Just a thought, don't be mad.
