Just got a 97 CL, and was wondering if the alarm should go off after the security system is set ,and then you try to open the doors with out the key or remote. The owners manual said that it does, but mine doesn't. The manual also said if you try and open the hood it will go off. I can see the little red light flashing on the door, but when I grab the handles nothing happens.

you need to give it 30 seconds to arm after you arm it. Then,. with the window down, unlock the dorr and open it. Then arm it again, wait 30 sec, reach in and pull the hood release.
