great topic man, on my car my friend gave me a universial HKS filter and i went to the local home depot and spent only 11 dollars on sum rubber tubing and built my own little thing, it sits perfectly in the bottom if the air box sounds nice when MR.VTEC kicks in, i doubt got as much power as a V2 you kno but 11$$ you cant really beat that.

Why do u say that. If i recall in physics class, metal conducts energy very well. But Plastic dont really. So with a Iceman made of plastic it can trasfer the cold air from the filter to the intake manifold better than thin metal peice can. (reffering to the thin ebay intakes). I dont see why they wouldnt work as well, or even better than a old school aem cold air.. Plus i talked him down to $30 bux last night Lol. hope it fits.
.................
Heres a question i had when installed a short ram for my old civic hatch. If u get a short ram, do u still remove the resonater box. because nothing is directing the air up into your engine without it..

so there are two resonators on the intake one is attached to the piping and one in the fenderwell. i believe i took off the one on the piping but not the fender well. i noticed that when i took the one off the piping the manifold takes in unfiltered air because there is now a "hole" in the piping from the resonator. is this correct?

You don't need to remove the resonator for just a SRI. And air is all over the place...it don't need directions! The resonator just goes down and back up again to the same spot.

no i am talking about a 4"-5" piece of plastic that is attached to the stock piping. it's almost right in the coneter of the intake box and the manifold.the piece of plastic is only attached to the piping, the other end doesnt go anywhere. by thway its on the side of the tubing.

they gave the right one but the surface area on it sucks. the filter area is about 75% less than stock.

here are the pics shineylite.
this pic right here is what i am talking about:

and this is what it looks like when u disconnect that piece:

see when u take it off it will take in air that is not filtered.

when i took this pic i found the piece that u are talking about where u said to just connec the vacuum lines together. where would i disconnect it from? from the black box or the tubing?

thanks

p.s. now i am going to goto kragen to return the k&n filter and get a oe fram one until spring rolls around so i can buy a perhaps a cheap cai.

yeah dude. just make sure you cover your intake area (meaning make sure no water can get in thought the intake area) and take a plastic bag and cover your distributor (the box that the spark plugs plug in) and thats it. make sure you dont concentrate the water over any electrical so you wont run into problems. Then take some simple green or go to auto shop and buy some engine cleaner and spray some on. High pressure works well, I got one at home, or you can go to a self car wash place and do it.

Yeah, metal conducts heat and noise very well.

I would remove the resonator box, it's just dead weight and it directs hot air into the area.
