ABS Lip Question
Hi Guys,
I am planning to get this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ACURA...2em118Q2el1247
I use the drive up portable ramp to do oil changes and other work and it is very convenient as I dont have to jack the car as I feel it to be very cumbersome and also the limitation of space in my garage better suites the usage of a ramp and it is very quick as well.
Now my question is If I install this will this interfere with getting the car up on the ramp?? I know I will loose ground clearance at the front end but will this pose difficulty in driving the car up the ramp??
Thankx for the insight and inputs.

hi .........Shoshinsha_KiDs......if you read the links of hydridnrg...thast what he had done and it flew away........feel sorry for that guy....but what I plan to do is punch holes in both the lip and the bumper and then use rivet gun to rivet the crap out of it just as BlackAck said.....that should hold it in place......if you are running a double sided tape get them rivited....if you are a little bit handy...buy a hand punch tool and a rivet gun...which i juts did they are like $20 pops...and you should be good......

to me... unless u really like THAT lip... it would be a waste to do all that work and have it break off into little pieces gradually... it'll look like crap! If you put all that work into a WW lip... which you don't need to, it'll never come off.. and I believe if your car is stock, meaning... stock rims... stock appearance, the WW lip will make it look better stock. The ABS lip looks like you'll be trying to hard. Thats like putting rims on without a drop! it's a big NO NO in my book. Since you bought it... I guess you can try it... but really, an investment in a WW lip is a good investment. That thing will NOT break... and last you the cars lifetime. Good Luck

ABS is sturdy it just doesn't stay on the bumper well, as long as you mount it good, shouldn't go anywhere

I wouldn't say abs is sturdy... if u hit a curb.. or go off at a bad angle.. it'll def crack. When I think sturdy... I think of something that will not crack. polyurethane (WW lip) is sturdy... you can bend that thing and hit anything you want with that... it won't break or crack.

i had no problems with mine, stayed on the car and didn't budge up to 190km/h. if you do a search for my threads (there's not many) you can see how i secured it. i scraped the shit out of the bottom going in and out of driveways delivering pizza too, no cracks yet.
The car is lowered in the ebay pic, i bought the car lowered on eibachs pro-kit(?), the smaller drop they offer.
And to those who say the urethane is more durable, i broke a chunk out of a greddy front lip i had on my 94 accord back in tha day. in fact when i ordered another one to retrofit to my CB7, the first two that Greddy USA shipped me broke in transit.

are you sure it was urethane? bc that really doesn't sound right. I drove over a island, which half my lip tore off, then I rolled over it... while half of it was attached on the other side... and it came out fine... but with some scratches though.... But there are always going to be some that break i suppose. I'm not arguing with you... just telling experiences like you are.
but back to the real story... getting a lip and not lowering it is like getting rims and not lowering it... you should really lower it in the future at least. Look how bad those cars with body kits keep their cars at stock height...
