'99 turn signals on a '98 car?

FINALLY got my clear corners & put them on. Still have the stock bulbs for turn signals.....they are a little blinding at night.....

Today, I swing by my local PepBoys to pick-up some amber bulbs & grab the equivalent of a 3497 (as indicated by the book). I get back to the car......I've actually got wedges (7440 I think) that is listed for the '99 model.

Anybody run into this? If I've missed this on the FAQ, I'm gonna be pissed at myself!!

which bulb were you trying to buy? The side marker bulb is a wedge bulb 168, it also has a lot of different number variaties. The main blinking light is the bigger bulb with the little tabs on the base that are at different levels. Meaning one of the tabs is higher set then the other. I think you have the right one?

just doing the front turn signals. I've got the front sidemarkers replaced already & they're fine.

My list for a 98 CL shows a front turn signal as a 3497 (push & twist w/single contact point). I've actually got wedge-type bulbs. The listing shows this wedge-bulb for the '99 CL

If you are talking about the turn signal in the headlamp, it is the 168/194 wedge bulb. If you are talking about the corner lamps, then the parking light is a 168/194 but the blinker is a 7440. I believe the 3497 is for the brake lights. Do yourself a favor though, don't buy the crap from Pep Boys, Autozone, etc because they sell a bunch of cheap shit. Go online, there are a million places to get them. I got mine from www.autodynamic.com and they look really nice (much better then that APC crap or whatever generic brand they sell). Hope this helps.

My manual is wrong when referring to the turn signals. Lesson learned, "don't believe everything you read", paid another shipping charge after just getting my clears from autodynamic so I could get my bulbs.
