The 97 and 98 CLs seem to look the same, but after reading many posts in this forum, there appears to be a lot of mechanical differences. The 97 was the first model year for the CL, correct? Was the design a one-year run and then they changed a bunch of things for 98+?

What are the major differences?

Good threads. What about the tranny though? I remember reading some posts about that being different for 1997. Is the 97 one any better than the 98?

 

Im pretty sure there was a poll at some point with the model years, transmissions, and number of replacements, but I didnt see it doing a brief seach, you may be able to find it.
