'97 for 98'-up steering wheel swap

I'm interested in getting the wood/leather steering wheel from the MDX put in my car. I've seen somewhere here that one person here (I think 99CL) did the swap by using the ring from the MDX which was a near-perfect fit! I would like to do the same but our '97 wheels are different. Can a 98+ steering wheel be fitted in a 97? I checked out these links for these schematics:

for 1997 CL:

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/...+WHEEL+%281%29

for 1998 CL:

http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/...+WHEEL+%282%29

hmm, it looks like there are a lot of different parts involved...has anyone tried this swap?

I asked the same question awhile back but no one seemed to know if we could do it or not. I am thinking of getting the wheel and seeing if i can "transplant" the horn buttons to the new wheel

I'm not sure about the '97 CL's.........but I did a swap using a 2002 accord wheel........the fit was perfect for a '98.

I think it is b/c your horn buttons are on the wheel........on later Cls you push the airbag to honk.

OKay..The 97 is different because of the horn (which is on the steering wheel). If you change it to a MDX one which does fit on the 99 (for sure) and 98 (i believe). 98 and 99 i think have the horn on the airbag. So therefore if you change the 97 to a MDX or Accord steering wheel. You'll need to change out the airbag so u'll have a horn. Unless you don't want the horn. If that's the case. I think it should work. not a 100% sure..maybe 99%....so they're always that 1% that i could be wrong.

yup..i only got mine for $10. Just to go ebay and search for Acura Steering wheel. They only have them once in a while. But it's NOT the wood one. I seen a wood one twice maybe, but they go for $200
