9000k HIDs?
I'm in on the group HID buy, but everywhere on the internet, the color temperature given keeps representing different colors...
Some places have 6000k as pure white, others say blue
Some places say 7000k is blue, while others say it is purple...
Then i saw 9000K at purple!!..
For example, this site:Auto Direct Save shows two examples...
These examples shows purple/violet at supposedly 9000K (top) and the bottom, blue at 7000K
Sometimes I think these color temp numbers are just tossed out there for the sake of marketing..
So here the question...does anyone know which would best match OEM HIDs (for current gen TL/CL's)?

I got the 9000K purple ones from autodirect and they were really purple and not too bright. I just got the blue ones from them and they are much brighter and look pretty good. I will post pics soon and you can look for my other post of my purple ones

anything over 6000k basically is more for the color and less for the brightness in the lights. 7000k is still alright because it's not that far off 6000k...but 9000k???? that is just ridiculous! The lights must come out pretty dim.

I have "normal" osram bulbs, which are the same things new Acura's come with. The color temp is listed at 5400K. I am more than happy with these... anything over that temp is a waste in my mind. I had a pair of Philips bulbs in my car before... and they are more of a blue tint, what you see in the new Maxima's and Altima's... and suposevly they run at 4200K.

9000K...ewwwww
Oh yes, I saw a last gen civic coupe (most likey 99 or '00 model) speeding down past me on HWY 401 in the east end of Toronto, with lights that looked like the PIAA H4 plasmas (which IMO, are horrible). When I was able to catch up to it and pulled out in front, I was blinded by super intense purble beam that looked exactly like 1stgenCL's pics. In person..they look horrible! Not to mention, hardly any usable light in front of it...
Make mine 6000K (maybe 7000K)!!
