75-80 Drag Way Pics and Results

Hey all,

Here's some pics and (hopefully) results from those who participated. Enjoy!

moforose3.0, 1genCL, & NOMAD

2 guys that work at Maryland Performance Center (sponsors of 75-80 Drag Way). This is where I get my N2O filled.

One of 1genCL's newest mods!

Another view

Another new mod for 1genCL!

NOMAD talking with rebeltruce (and his buddy)

1genCL exposes the trick to low ETs!

NOMAD's '97 2.2CL (ready to run 12s)! :P

q2slinger's '99 3.0CL

Speaking of which, here's q2slinger!

Here's moforose3.0 icin' down the 3.0

Yeah, that's me (wondering what the fuck this towel is doing on my intake manifold)!

Here's my time slip (2nd run) showing my 100+ mph.

Here's my best ET, ever!

I had a great time! It was good to see moforose3.0 (as well as the MD crew--1genCL & NOMAD). I enjoyed meeting q2slinger and rebeltruce. Hopefully, rebeltruce will race with us next time!

NOMAD didn't run 12s. The comment was just a stab at his hesitation to run last night!

BLACKOUTCL: I pay $4.00 per pound for N2O.

mantis23: Thanks!

1genCL: Yeah, I guess we'd get better ETs elsewhere. I'll try to become "Capitol compliant".

I enjoyed seeing/meeting everyone, we need to do it again on a cooler night in a few weeks to see if we can get our times down and to see if Rick can break into the 13's with those new type-s cams he won off ebay Im hoping with the type-s throttle body I just won and on a cool night I will we hitting that 15.3 mark.

BLACKOUTCL - yeah. the headers and exhaust did help a whole bunch, but i have black oil and dirty injectors to help slow me down.

on top of that my clutch is going to need replacement soon.

hopefully i can get my car into the mid 15's by summers end, with the mods that im gonna do.

Great runs everyone that went.

Rick great job on that 14.1. Won't be long now till you need to buy a helmet.

Yeah, as soon as the cams come in (and I get the cam gear I'm missing), I'm going helmet shopping!

I raced dustbuster the first time he hit 14.1. Not much of a race. After the N20 kicked in he was gone.

It was good meetin up with you guys.

Dustbusters HID lights are freakin unbelievable. I thought my PIAAs were bright. He was right behind me in line and turned em on.

Nice Track Meet gents
Rick, I see you put your 16's back on for the track. Do you think it helped getting your time down?

Not ashamed at all. I definitly need practice... It's not as easy as just mashing the gas...

I'll need a little more work done to the engine to get my times down but overall I can't complain for my first time.

Pretty basic 16.4 best time.

Yeah, the combo of the stock (lighter) rims, and running 108 octane boost.

I don't think I'll get much more out of this setup (except maybe to run on a cooler evening).

I'm going to attempt to get the Type 'S' cams installed soon. This will get me into the 13s (then I'll look into a 100-shot).

I'm having a guy check out what can be done with our 3.0 trannys. If it costs less than $2000, I'm goning to do it. Otherwise, I'll wait for the 6-speed to become available.

I'm still waiting for a good price on headers!

Nice runs guys. Hey racing IS a lot more than just mashing the gass. I wish I could have made it, but I hope to be there next time.

Hey guys,

I wish I could've headed out with you guys. Had to run to Va Beach. What a f#$kin drive. Everyone is constantly on the brakes for no apparent reason. My tires are beyond black with brake dust now I'm interested in seeing what I can run w/o my headers and exhaust.

Really?
I feel like I should be able to beat that with a little driveway tuning. I need new plugs, wires, clean filter, cold air scoop into engine bay, Ice the intake tube, tune-up and valve job... maybe advance the timing a touch?

Also concentrating on launching properly and shifting faster.
I kept getting distracted by wierd stuff, partly cause I was unfamiliar with the procedures of the track...

Anyhow, I'll get better than that sometime.
