5 speed swap

yes i searched and i found next to nothing. people r always puttin down the idea or saying "just put in a h22." i know it will require a lot of work but im definitely willing. i made a list of things ill need to rip out of a 2.2CL that i found =P please feel free to add or eliminate anything from it. i know someone out there is more knowledgable than me, this is just a list i made from research.

-5 speed transmission
-5 speed ECU
-Brake & clutch pedals
-3 clutch lines
-Flywheel & Clutch assembly
-Clutch resivoir (master, slave)
-drivers side axel (not sure about this one)
-shifter assembly and shifter lines
-5 speed transmission motor mount

im not sure if im doing it myself cuz i found a shop thatll do it for around $500 (i know em) but i would definitely like to do it for experience but then ill need to buy/rent an engine hoist. im mainly posting this to see if theres anything more, or less, that i need. if your going to say "get an h22" or "dont bother doing this" then please keep it to yourself. thanks -jon

I did this swap in my Accord and it was pretty straight forward. Make sure the clutch pedal bracket is in good shape, especially if you are going to run an aftermarket clutch (stronger). My bracket broke the other day which put my car out of commission for a while. You will have to do a little wiring to get the cruise control to work again and overcome the starter lock solenoid. Other than that totally worth it... faster, better mileage, much more fun! Good luck!

I have a guy in NY which could do it for $1200 labor. Top quality work. I've done it. There is no 5 speed ECU.
You need tranny, slave and master cylinders, flywheel, clutch, shifter, shifter cables(2), axles, intermediate shaft, clutch pedal (no brake necessary) and $1200 for labor. Let me know if you are interested in getting this done in NY. I had my car converted 4 months ago. Works like a charm.

By the way no one is going to charge you $500 because its a shit load of work. On top of everything they have completely remode the dash.

you can modify the brake pedal they can cut it down for you
as far as axles i got cl/accord 5speed axles plus intermediate shaft I believe you can use one of your old axles but I highly doubt anyone will sell you one axle unless the shop can make one

its $225 for the transmission alone so i called up the junkyard and told them everything i need and they said the whole car is there so just take whatever i need. they said it would prolly cost me between 6 and 700. i have yet to go tho because its 4 hours away. if you go to www.car-parts.com you can find everything you need from any junkyard in the country
