39.99 Oil change = 5000$, lol

Lol, so my day goes like this. Iam on my way to get a oil change, 110,000km . So i bring it in at 7am and go to work. At 10 am i get a call from the dealer, that my front left wheel bearing is fucked. (I had no noise or anything, but its covered under warrenty) so he said he's gonna fix it and get on with the oil change. 11am i get another call telling me i should get my timing belt and water pump changed because warrenty requires it. So i said do it. 12:30pm the guy calls again and says my transmission is leaking from its casing and he's gonna take some pictues and send it to the acura warrenty department to see if it was covered.

By now iam sweatin bricks thinking god damn its gonna cost me my left leg.

He calls back and says good news and good/bad news, Acura will cover the transmission replacement(brand new) but its gotta be shipped from somewhere.

next, he tells me theres something wrong with the Rad and its gotta be replaced, but again its covered under warrenty.

So all in all its only gonna cost me 50$ for the deductable and 500$ for the waterpump and timing belt and labour for it.

3000$ for transmission, 600$ for the labour for the trans.
500$ for the new rad and labour.
500$ for the new wheel bearing and labour
^^^(all covered under warrenty)

I think i made out like a bandit. hahaa

If you don't follow the Acura Mantenance Schedule they can deny you warranty claims.

thats a pretty weak reason to replace the entire tranny... its good thier doin it free, but...it could have blown up and had shrapnel kill someone or something alittle tougher sounding than "it has a leak".. eather way its good shit tho.

Why is any of that under warranty?

DivineCL... You got that right. Dealership service departments get paid off of warranty work also.

How do any of these company's (warranty) make any money? I made about over 2k in claims, and I only paid 1k i think. All I ever hear is people making claims, like him for example. I'm sure he didn't pay more then 3k for his warranty?

Good save. You are one lucky SOB... By the By, how did you not know this shit was wrong? And, how did you get the timing belt as an under-warantee item... MAPS? I didn't think MAPS covered that.

Just got the car back runs sweet now....
There was nothing wrong with the trans no slippage no sticking, it was quick and responsive.
It was just a small leak that they can't just repair because it a silicon type seal that shouldn't of died.
Next the timing belt wasn't covered under warrenty, i said that in order for acura to continue the warrenty after there 100,000 to 110,000km interval you must replace the timingbelt and everyone know that you might aswell fix the waterpump at the same time so you dont gotta pay double the labour for them to take apar the car again.

Rodxx, this is how fucked up acura was when i bought the car. i had a 97 cl 2.2 that was totaled in a head on, after i got out of that i bought another cl a 98 3.0 it had 96K on it and they were offering me a 60k or 3 year warrenty for 1500$ CND i looked at my buddy and was wtf the car is 7 years old and they wanna do that iam in.... Check it out now ahha it paid for its self almost 3 times over..
