If im not mistaken, the previous gen(2001-2005) civics had either 1.7L 115hp, 1.7L 127HP and a 2.0L 160HP in the SIR hatchback.

Heh. I know only one person here with a front plate, and it's just like a souvenier thing from the beach. Sucks for you guys.

And I would offer my input on the new Si's, as my friend just got one (and I have to say that I'm extremely jealous), but he refuses to rev it past 3500 rpms!!!!! and only goes that high when he's passing someone!!! he drives so damn slow. by the time he gets to 35mph he's already in 6th gear. its so damn irritating.

I have a 98 civic ex coupe. The generations are 88-91, 92-95, 96-00, 01-05, and 06+.
The 96-00(EK) civics came with three engine options. D16y7(106 hp, lower models), D16y8(127 hp vtec, EX), and B16A(Si, or canadian SiR). The 01+ i think have like 1.7 litre 117 hp engines, non vtec, but are a bit heavier too. But you have to be careful, lots of civics have swaps and turbos. With certain swaps, they can have over 200 n/a, which is pretty nice in a 2500 pound car. My car isnt quick, but it isnt that slow either. Plus im gettin 30 mpg.

He probably has two cars ?

I'll volunteer to be the 3.0 if there's another J30 vs. H22 showdown. But it's gotta be during next week or springbreak, not during school...

I guess every1 was comparing stock vs stock. the b16a is the one that will eat a 2.x, the rest i cud care less about. I drove a 2004 auto. It redlines higher than my 2.2 but its all noise and fuck all else. I floored it, waited, then looked at the dash when it shifter, it read 46 or so km/h. The gas milage is nice though.
