3.0CL car shudders while in gear and stopped.

ok, so I had my car on jack stands for a while because of waiting for a replacement shock for my d2 coils, and I finally got it back up and running after a week. Anyways, there seems to be tranny fluid leaking from somewhere around my tranny cooler that I installed as there is a lot of fluid on the bottom in the front. i tried to tighten the connections and I'm not sure if that fixed the leak or not, but it looks like the tranny fluid is slightly below the top notch on the dipstick.

I bought a quart to top it off since it was low, but haven't done so yet.

anyways, once I got my car back i noticed that it shuddersslightly when I'm stopped completely when the car is in any gear. I know for sure this wasn't there before, and it's not a really strong shake, but it's definitely noticeable to me. Think I can just top off the fluid and it should be good again, or should I be worrid that my tranny is fucked? besides the shaking there is no noticable transmission problems.

btw. I finally got some 20% tint on my car all around except windshield, and it looks sweet :). pics later when I get a camera.

may be worn motor mount/s

drain completely and refill with exactly 3 quarts

if it still shudders you either have a tranny problem or fucked up motor mounts

goddamit, I was soo sure that the motor mounts were ok a few months ago. ah well. I'll just drain and refil first just in case.

thanks guys.

you're supposed to refill with 3.5 quarts

ghost_masterCL 01-15-2006 08:31 PM

yeah I was gonna fill with as much as suggested in the manual + half a quart for the tranny cooler.

maybe the idle is too low, try cleaning out the IAC or maybe the ECU just need to be recalibrated.

recalibrate the ECU by,
unpluging the battery for 10+ minutes, then reinstall, start engine and let idle til running temp is reached, about 10 minutes, give that a try

it also shudders a little during deceleration, but I'm pretty sure that's not the brakes since they are less than a year old and they are rotora slotted with axxis organic pads, and I'm getting a very slight sqeek when I break. I can only hear it when I'm close to a curb/wall, and I think that's just the slots in the rotor "cutting" the pads.
