Save your money and get an aem, it's worth the $$ if you want a cai. Then put a k&n cone on it, and you'll be set.

nothing wrong with ebay generic pipe. a metal tube with a filter at the end ... is a metal tube with a filter at the end. you pay the extra money for smog legal reasons, if you dont mind spending 5 minutes swapping ot intake for smog checks every 2 years then go for a generic one. Short Ram supposedly is louder more agressive sounding and its suppost to help you more down low powerband.

my intake i bought was a short ram / cold air extension. i used short ram and never changed to cold air i like the more agressive sound and low end power it gives, our car is a bit lacking down low so any power we can get away with down low take it and run. just get pulley and and belts while your at it my pulley's been installed and im in "the breaking in point" very happy with it Megan Racing pulley is great.

You will get better throttle response with a Short Ram (Not Much tho). "Technically" you will get more HP with a CAI. YOu can get the ebay CAI or Short Ram. Bombz short ram witha K&N filter works perfectly fine. A previously stated you pay extra for smog legal Items. If you think about it and I have tested it, Metal conducts heat and a CAI is more metal to conduct. Though your intake temp will be lower with a CAI if you set it up right because you are pulling more "cooled" air from outside the engine bay when with the Short Ram you pull more heated air from the engine bay. The air is obvoiusly more heated because the engine gets hot. But depending on the cooling in your engine bay, it could make little to no difference. I took out the bumper lenses and ran grill over them, this allows more air to flow into the engine bay. to make up for the areo specs of this, I took out the plastic lining in the wheel wells

But now something that make a big difference, not on specifically on the power, but as far as intake temp, one of those $100 Electric super chargers. They provide little to no FI but do significantly drop the temp of the intakes air and provide the low end and throaty sound of the short ram with a CAI

Ive seen it on a v6 Accord, not much "FI" but cooled intake air dramatically
