2nd Tranny Club, Rebuild = OUCH
Just got a call from the tranny shop, they ripped apart my tranny and found problems galore. My rear bearings had apparently broken off, and flowed inside the tranny gears, tearing stuff apart, typical honda failure. I need new clutch plates, a new torque converter, new gearing, a bunch of random other parts, all in all the rebuild is going to be about $2700-2800 But at least my 3.0 will shift smooth again, but damn.... damn..... who's welcoming me into the 2nd tranny club?

I've had no problems with my second. Though I think the lack of maintenance by the first owner is what killed the first one. That and maybe some launching. Gotta stay on that maintenance schedule.

I can't understand why somebody would replace a crappy automatic tranny with the same crap. Upgrade to Dr. Evil or do an H22A swap or a J32 swap.
Heck there was a J30 from the new accords (240 HP) with a tranny with a buy it now price of 890 several weeks back. Getting that, tracking down a ECU and having it installed probably wouldn't have been that much more then what you're paying now and you would've gotten a 5 speed automatic (instead of 4 speed) and 40 extra horsepower.
