If the Mustang is a 5-speed, you'll loose--no question.

If the Mustang is a 4-speed Auto, you might have a slight chance (driver dependent).

I've beat several 6-banger Mustangs (w/o N2O), but I also have i/e/h.

Here's a comparison: http://autos.msn.com/research/compar...&v=t2&v=t95741

In a nutshell: The Mustang has 193HP vs your 200HP.

The Mustang has 225 ft-lbs. Torque vs your 195 ft-lbs. Torque.

The 5-speed Mustang weights 3114 lbs. vs your 3219 lbs.

The Auto Mustang weights 3175 lbs.

seems to me there is a diff in a 20mph roll going up and downhill, rather than a stoplight race from 0. torque is most useful from a stop, and yes its true he has much more. so thats where im wondering.

This kid is retarted. The older V6 Stangs would play nice with a Civic. The new V6 seriously can hang with our cars.

I believe it was 99.

Old V6 Stangs: 17.3s
New V6 Stangs: 15.6-15.7 (manual/auto)
2.2CL: 16.7

I can see how you would own one of the older V6s, but not the newer ones unless the focker missed second or something hehe.

v6 stang vs. our cars (3.0) is pretty close. I raced a 2002 v6 mustang and we were head to head. Not really sure who will win because I wasnt mashing. I dont think that other guy wasnt either. but from what I experienced, we were pretty close.

Just an addition...

the 99-up Mustangs have 190+hp where as the 98-down have 150... They are DOGS... While the new ones are still slow, I would still give it to him to win a short drag race...

Someone has actually run 14.95 in a STOCK (-jack, -spare, -tools) at the strip...So Civic EX's will NOT hang with them...

My good friend has a 99' v6 stang auto. I've raced him several times from a stop and from a roll. He's got about 150-200 lbs of stereo equipment in the trunk which actually gives me the weight advantage, but not by much. He also has I/E. My 3.0 is stock, except when we've raced I've openned my air box and proped it open about 1 inch so it acts as a short intake and gets more air.

It's been close every race. I've pretty much edged him out most races. It's really too close to say that one or the other would win everytime.

Ford and GM six bangers are sloooooow as hell. I had a brand new 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix rental with like 17K miles on it. I had to look under the hood to make sure it wasn't a 4-cyl. It was the 3.8L V6........junk!

I honestly don't think any american auto makers can make a decent V6 with power unless they super charge it like the SVT's. V8's are their bread and butter as far as power goes. Crylser is getting there though.....

One day these guys will realize that, maybe after a V6 Stang whips their asses.

The 03 Grand Prix rental you had damond may be slow - but the 3.0CL isn't any faster stock. :o

It sure seemed it, night and day difference in handling and power. The day after I got rear ended in my CL I got the Grand Prix so it wasn't like I had the rental a year before getting my CL....

Maybe a 2003 Mustang will wipe my 3.0...but then lets compare a stock 1998 Mustang V6 to my stock 3.0. And compare a 2003 Mustang V6 to the 2003 3.2.......
