2.2 transmission

I'm in the process of purchasing a transmission for my 97 acura cl 2.2 which is automatic. However I've come across a deal for a 98 2.3. Does the 2.3 fit in the 2.2??

its probably cheaper to buy another manual CL than swapping it yourself.

The car is not manual and I am not doing a manual swap. I just wanna know if a auto from a 2.3 will fit a 2.2?

check the model number or whatever, I honestly wouldnt be surprised if the 2 cars use the same transmission

READ THE NOOB GUIDE

It States
Transmission:
All transmissions, clutches, pressure plates, and flywheels are interchangeable.
Gears swapping can be done using the gear sets. LSDs are not swappable as the bell housings are different.

NOTE: THE BEST TRANSMISSION FOR YOU F22 and F23s is THE M2S4 or M2B4 ( contains LSD ) H22 transmissions are geared a shy to short for our engine. These have been known to shave .7 off the quarter mile respectively.

97 cl 2.2 transmission

I just bought a 97 CL 2.2 with a destroyed transmission. From a lot of research and trial and error, and wasted money, i have come to the conclusion that the transmission in a 97 CL 2.2 automatic is one of a kind, one year only. And ONLY a 97 2.2 automatic tranny can be used.

Interesting..... I have a 98 2.3 (auto) and I feel the gear shift hard from 1st to 2nd, and sometimes it takes forever to shift at all. I'm guessing, from the sounds of it, that I can't use a 2.2 trans?

You may be able to save your trans if you do the following...

Change 100% of the ATF.

Check for debris in the linear solenoids. There are two just above your trans dip stick... Left and right sides.

Left solenoid is attached by 6 bolts. Under the solenoid is a small pipe. At the end of the pipe should be a screen. Check that for blockage.

Right solenoid is held on by three bolts. The Solenoid's gasket is a filter. Check that for blockage.

To the right of the dip stick are two individual pressure switches. There should be a screen at the end of them switches. Check them for block

GivenGiven the age of your car it wouldn't be over kill to just place both pressure switches and/or both linear solenoids.
