agranado... my advise would be to hop on http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/index.php . go to the speaker section. and ask the same question there. with your budget and what your looking for. you will get the best advise there.

Definitely take your door panels off, while I had mine off to install the speakers I insulated the door panels with some undercoating/sound deadening spray, and dynamatted the door shells. Vibrations are few and far between now.

my passenger side window does not rattle... i'm thinking because the door panel was never taken off. Although my driver side door panel has been taken off. Anyone experience this with taking off door panels with respect of the window rattling?

your friend wasn't lieing about paying $300 for his components. thats how much the silk tweetered component systems go for. one of the best, imo.

the high end polks sounds pretty decent for the price. kappas are fuckin garbage imo, the blow out easily and sound harsh as hell. but remmeber, its all in the amp. if you want real clarity get a 4 channel amp to run the highs. Decks dont have enough current to make speakers sound their best. They have too much harmonic distortion.

I've got Diamond Audio HEX 5 1/4" silk components in the front and 6 1/2" HEX components in the rear with a custom baffle that I made to fill the 6x9 hole. Now I'm just working on getting the money for a custom trunk that I will be doing.

i agree with the JL components, they rock for the price. i had the lowest model TR's and they rocked. they won the 2003 best sound of show.

i dunno how they will perform off a HU but i recommend you run your components of a multi channel amp.
