1997 CL 3.0 tansmission questions
I've had my 3.0 CL for a long long time and I think the trans is finally giving up on me after 255,000 miles. (Not sure if that's a record or not lol) Besides regular maintenance and servicing, all that's ever been replaced is the starter and alternator in all of the 255k miles. I was looking at this trans on eBay:
1998 1999 Acura 3 0 CL Transmission w 2 yr Warranty Unlimited Miles B7ZA | eBay
Is there a difference between the 97, 98, and 99 3.0 transmissions? Is this a decent place to buy from? Anyone recommend another place? I was going to try and find a lower mileage motor as well and just do both since I'm sure the motor is getting tired as well. lmk what you all think

I don't know the answer to this, but the 98-99's have the immobilizer, I believe that's just in the ignition and doesn't tie into the tranny, but definitely something to research.

All the 97-99 V6 transmissions are the same. The 97 also has an immobilizer which has nothing to do with the transmission wiring.
Your best bet would be to get the transmission looked at by a professional. If you lived near me I could check it out but most here dont live in ohio. When was the last time you drained and filled the transmission? As for a used trans I would stay away unless you can get a warranty because ppl sell a lot of faulty units as good ones. Regarding your engine, I would leave that alone, they are bullet proof. My family has 3 CL's with the V6. The engine will run forever as long as you change the oil and have the T belt and WP replaced when its due.
