1996-1998 cobra?

Well, as most of you know, I am in the process of selling my CL. The question has been and still is, what car to get next. I was thinking about a 1996-1998 cobra. What do you think. I have some other ides too. Thanjks in advance for any voting.

Get the lightning. That thing is mad fast. Probably faster than the S2000 by a long shot once you change the SC belt.

the lightning is going to be way more than a CL-S, but if you can find a 5.9 R/T do it.

I'd be happy with any of them . . . wait . . . no I wouldn't.

I'd keep the CL!

Seriously, get the Cobra. The lightning is great until you want to haul people. The Dodge will haul people until it breaks down (who knows when).

LOL, thanks for the opinions everyone, I am still undecided. The reason that I want the cobra is because it is fast, and I can actually afford it. Oh yeah and it is a manual.
Dustbuster: do you know if the cobra has any major issues that I should be aware of, for instance things that break.

Get the lightning if you can, my buddy has a supercharged 5.9 r/t, he's spent a ton of money on it and it still doesn't run right

Get a Lightning and rip the passenger seat out and you will run 12's. My buddy has a 95 cobra (blown 8 pounds) and a lightning and the lightning puts the cobra to shame. Dont get a mustang, then you will be considered an asshole like the rest of them

The only reason that they are cheaper is becaause I can by an older one. I can't by a 1997 lightnight, if I could, then I bet they would be just as expensive. Just wondering what everyopne's opinions are

Why would you put cars that you can't afford on a poll regarding which car to get?

well, I technically can afford to get any of those cars, but I don't really want to spend that much if I don't need to.

I don't know of any (but that does mean that there may be some problems).

Driving the Cobra would be a blast!

The scooter idea is a pretty good one.
Ultimately, the reason that I keep asking opinions is because when I want a car, I automatically think that it is the best car for me. I never take into account that it might not be a quality car. For instance, a ford that may break down easily.
I aloso tend to "fip flop". I go from car to car wanting a different one each week. So right now I am just trying to find a good fast car, that won't break down all the time.
So this is why I continue to ask opinions, but in the end, if I don't like the car I won't get it. As I said, I likee/want all the cars listed. Thanks for all the help guys.

Oh, and before I was aasking which car you would want. At that time I couldn't ahve gotten any cars. Right now I am down to the last minute, I need to find a car before november so that I can get rid of mine. Hoepfully I can do that, believe it or not I value everyones opinion on this board. Ranging from newbies to the "Oh Great Ones"

Why are you wanting another car, you' already have the s2000?

If you need an everyday car then fix and keep the CL.

If you're wanting more speed go for the Cobra.

The cobra and the s2000 will be real practical in the winter or when you need space.

the cobra is a cool car, but kinda slow. DO NOT GET AN R/T they are fucking dogs, i have 2 friends w/ them and they barely keep up w/ my cl OFF the bottle.

if you can afford insurance on the lightning you'd be stupid to not get it.

S2000 = Sports car.

Cobra = Sports car.

Lighting = Truck that can beat both your sports cars.

Why not get the thing that is more practical and what you don't already have (speed and towing capabilities). You'll be able to haul shit around like 8 girls and go to clubs super fast. Best damn thing to come out since the Typhoon.

Hmmmm....

What price range are these cars in....new or used? The '01 CL-S is like 30K isn't it, new? So I'm guessing the other choices are less expensive? IF those were my choices....I'd pick the Cobra.

Something about a pickup truck being a performance machine is off kilter to me. If I were to get a hot-rod pickup truck, I'd HAVE to have a crotch-rocket in the bed just so it wouldn't seem like I'm passing off a pickup truck as my speed machine

a pickup truck that'll run low 12's w/ less then 1000$ in mods and handles almost like a sportscar is a different story though

my only problem is that I really don't want to spend the extra few grand on a used lightning. But I do see what you guys are saying, I ahve been in love with the lightning ever since it came out, maybe I will just wait a few more months save some MORE money for sales tax and then buy a lightning.
For those of you who know anything about the mustang cobra, are they hard to maintain? Is there anything that is a common problem with it? Thanks for all the help, I appreciate everyone's opinions
