120K service costs
Hey peeps ... newbie here ... so new that I can't post pix yet. But I'm learning my way around here and this Forum is becoming an invaluable aid.
SO, question is about a reality check on the 120K Service. I'm looking for a local service solution to me in San Jose, CA (if you have one I'm open to suggestions). So far I have contacted three (3) and heard back from two (2). Additional part of this equation is that the timing belt is overdue for replacement. Here's the info I have thusfar and would appreciate any comments:
An Acura dealership:
1) 120K Service @ $920
2) Timing Belt @ $1,450
Mechanic #2:
1) forgot 120K Service quote
2) Timing Belt @ $1,086
Mechanic #3: hey to hear back, but I will update info - thought I'd get ball rolling so that I can judge how long this process will take - I will update.
THX

OK - update on this posting - got three other quotes and they were all within a $75 range of the Acura dealership quote. Upshot is the lowball quote concerns me - perhaps cheap kit (dunno - not finding out). So I've just decided to give Acura the work of maintaining this charmer. You guys and gals who do your own work, I tip my hat to, just not my balliwick.

I let the stealership do my timing belt as well, not worth the hassle of trying to trust someone else
