1/4 Mile Time
Hey guys, was out at the local track last night. First night I've raced! 16.1 seconds at 87Mph. Completely stock 97 CL3.0. I ran in Automatic once, but I found a much better advantage when started off in 1st gear and shifted myself.

goddamit, something must be wrong with my car. either that or the altitude is fucking killing my times. I have a 99 3.0 w/ injen CAI, chopped OBX headers, and as of 25 minutes ago D2 coilovers. I only ran a 16.8 at about 84-85 mph. I am in denver, CO and the track is about 5400 ft above sea level.
where are you located at?

Dont use the 1st , 2nd then 3rd on your automatic too much. I did that for a while and then I stated getting tranny probs.
I'm going to the tracks soon. Some of you people with a 2.2 - 2.3 tell me your times?

Start out in D3.
When the transmission shifts into 2md,
Drop the shifter to D2.
Then hold till around 6.2K rpms,
Then go to D3.
Hold until around 6.2K rpms,
Shift to D4.
Good envelope for relatively stock 3.0 CL.
It will save you transmission. Let the computer shift from 1st to 2nd. That is the most crucial and damaging shift for your transmission because 1st is a high torque gear, and 2nd is much less of a torque gear so the stresses are greater on those clutch packs involved in that process. Good luck.

NO! It's my gas ass egr valve that was acting up on me at the time. I was afriad to stick it in reverse with everyone there, because I thought I could possibly hit someone's car. It would rev by itself, and it kills my tranny when hitting the brakes....

Was it the guy with the black TL....that recorded it? I saw him today driving....just wondering
LOL...yea I hated it, cause I'd be at stop lights and people would stare at me thinking I was trying to show off my exhaust by reving it....lol.....there were times where I just shut the damn thing off. Happened to me at the drive through too, lol.....oh well, now I'll have the butterfly actuator to deal with.....

s and giggles.
