What's in store for 2004....? In particular, the luxury coupe series with CL's being terminated...? I've seen the 04 RL, TL, TSX, RSX, but no CL. Is Acura gonna skip a year like they did with the 1st Gen CL and the 2nd Gen (97-99/01-03)?

If indeed the CL is going away....why is that? Why does Acura never stick with a particular model for an extended amount of time (10+ years), except for Integ and NSX. The Legend lasted what....8 years, Vigor, CL....6 years.

The CL has OFFICIALLY been axed!

There have been several threads over in Car Talk confirming this.

 

The Cl has been axed.

It is the same reason the vigor, the prelude were shot down. Low sales.
No sense is putting up the mass amount of capital needed to keep a car in production if its not making the sales numbers.

If/When Acura does come out with another lux coupe it will have a different monicker to differentiate it from the CL because the CL started getting a bad stigma for its bad trannies.Now I know many other honda/acuras had tranny failures, but the CL seemed to take the most blame.

Time and money, all it is, youll see another acura coupe in another couple years im sure.

Yeah, the return of the Lude has always been rumored.

I think I want it back more then anyone else, I fucking LOVE preludes (except 4th gens.)

But Im not holding my breath either. The V6 6spd Accord is meant to the be the prelude replacement for the time being.
