its like metal wire about a half inch wide with holes in it so you can screw it to the deck and the frame or dash to secure it in place

dont know how the backstrapping would hold. I would go to home depot and bend my own bracket.

but yeah all u do is move ur OBD2 connector somehwere, anywhere, then just cut a hold where u want the radio to be. really not right and wrong why to do this, just watever work for you.

i just took the obd2 connector off the bracket and moved it towards the pedals where its still accessable.

i removed the bezzel and used a drimmel tool with a rotozip blade. (like a drill bit but made for cutting) and zipped out the ashtray and lighter mount. sanded it all down and you couldnt tell it was ever supposed to have a lighter/ashtray. but i did put in a tl navigation unit (fully functional i might add) and it looked like it was supposed to be there.

here was mine in my accord

I made 2 small brackets that mounted to the iso screw holes on the sides of the deck and secured them to the metal frame inside the console. As for the bezel, with the ash tray mount and lighter cut out, the bezel fit around my faceplate very nicely. I never actually got to finish that setup off, but it worked and looked very nice for the time being. I couldnt imagine the deck down there with an automatic though, changing CDs when parked would be somewhat akward.

i'm either gonna have to sell it or leave it at home is MA for a year. I'm looking forward to getting out of NC, but not to keen on leaving my baby alone for a year. At least i can save some money if i keep her, and then it's hook-up time
