Depends on what you want... If you want the same OE lifespan then go OE Pads.. If you want something more? then upgrade, the choice is yours.
I am personally using Carquest WEAREVER Premium pads and they are truly an upgrade over the Akebono OE Pads, Time will tell if they can last the same as the OE pads but brake pad lifespan has never been a concern for me.. I usually upgrade long before the minimum wear.

I like Akebono Proact pads from rockauto.com. Great site, great prices and fast shipping.

using raysbestos on the front brakes and OE on the rear currently. Raybestos seem to be pretty much like the stock brakes, maybe a bit better bite initially. Rockauto.com and use a coupon for 3-5% off. Also check ebay, sometimes with free shipping it's cheaper than rock auto.

I'm using EBC Green stuff 6000 series pads for the front, amazing bite, I would say 50% improvement over stock, stops the truck in a dime, trade off is your wheels turn to gunmetal/dark gray in about 1 week of regular driving . It looks like the euro cars you see on the street with dirty wheels.

How long do the OEM pads last? I am around 46k miles(2011 MDX) & I don't see any signs of fade.
