What do the different Maintenance codes mean? Can someone break them down?

Sorry for the noob question.

I have a 2006 TL, and am well informed on that car.

But we got a 2010 MDX and it's our first SUV. I have no idea what the codes mean and what they require. And I want to know what they mean so I can do as much of the work as possible on my own.

Can anyone break them down?

Like A1...

I assume that's just an oil change? What about the rest? What are the major maintainences (with milage) for a SUV / MDX?

Thanks in advance!!!

its in your owner's manual under maintenance. there are NO mileage intervals for this car. the MID will tell you when everything is due to service except brake fluid which is every 3 yrs, and power steering fluid which is not even mentioned. the Timing belt is listed under "4" and will occur around 105k mi. unless car lives/drives in harsh conditions then the TB is changed every 60k mi. most of us fall under the 105k mi or "4" interval.

in summary:
A=oil change
B= oil change and check up inspections
1=tire rotation
2=filter change (cabin and engine)
3=transmission flush
4=TB
5=coolant flush
6= differential fluid flush

Thanks!

Our car has the differential change needed already (currently have B16). We only have 14500k.

Is that normal?!

i'm gonna take a guess and say yes. i believe the avg interval is 15-20K mi. transmission is around 30k mi. give or take. so while there are no true mileage intervals....there are trends. oil changes A or B usually for me are around 4k mi. others who are highway only miles can get in upwards of 7500 mi. everyone has different driving conditions and habits.

search for a thread on the differential fluid flush/change. (the RL forums would probably provide more info)...same SHAWD system similar maintenance. from what i read the first change comes early, some at 10k mi some at 15k mi. not sure about subsequent ones. if you follow the MID, you'll be fine.

i've only had my X for a couple of months, but i've owned my TL for 6+yrs...so i know its tendencies.

Quite normal even though it's on the low size at 9009 miles. I had mine changed at 11,768 miles.
