You'll love the WeatherTechs!

I ordered a Lloyds Luxe carpet for the cargo area (with 3rd seat folded down) so my dog can be more comfortable back there.

I have black OEM all weather mats for 1st, 2nd row and OEM tri-fold for cargo area. Weathertech for the 3rd row. We just need some rain or snow to get some use out of them.

Does anyone know if the HL & Fogs use the same bulb # (If so I will place my order today)?

I want my fogs to match my HL; so I wanted to order the OEM Hids for my fogs. (Does anyone know the part # for the OEM HIDS)

The present: Put gas in the tank... today.

The past: Month ago had the starter and PS pump replaced due to loud cold weather start ups.

The immediate future: Tomorrow I will be ordering new brake rotors and pads from one of our vendors. I will also be giving the MDX a nice bath... the filth is driving me nuts!

HID: PHILIPS 85122+ D2S 4300K

Dunno about the fogs - seeing both H8 and H11 LEDs that supposedly fit but never done that mod so not really sure.

I suspect the bulb socket for the HIDs vs the fogs are different. So a simple swap out of one with the other matching type of bulb may not be easy without further mods.

Got rear ended by a lady , thankfully she only messed up the lower black portion of the back bumper & scratched my driver side tail light. Her insurance will definetly need to fix this + only use OEM parts.

Does your dog like the carpet? What kind of dog barrier do you use in your MDX?

I called ACURA to order a front windshield cover & they said they don't sell any OEM ones. Can any one recommend any good aftermarket one?

What a fun post.
My 2008 MDX - Replaced the A/C Clutch Relay, Driver Side Motor Assembly and recharged the A/C system. I attempted to swap out my well worn steering wheel for a very nice wheel from an '11, but failed (damn flappy paddles). I have a very nice 2011 MDX Steering wheel for sale, BTW.

Is it ebony with the wood trim?

Really debating about upgrading to the wood trim steering wheel. The wooden shift knob looks so nice in the MDX.

Left it at the dealer for A1 maintenance. We'll see if they actually rotate the tires, already have them marked to check after I pick it up later this evening.

Picked up my MDX and yes the tires were rotated, and shined too a nice surprise. Usually I only get the vehicle back washed and vacumed.

Maybe it's the fact that the SA recognized my last name and asked me about my brother and the fact he remembers him more than me during our HS years. Doesn't matter, I'll take it.

Power steering fluid

Power steering fluid was below the low level Mark line, so went to the dealership to buy it and then filled it up. I've been hearing a grinding/whining type of noise on and off coming from the front and someone suggested to che k the fluid levels. I was quite surprised to see it so low since I had the power steering pump and the battery replaced at the dealership only a couple of months ago when they also supposedly did a full inspection.

a month ago, replaced blown front door speakers, added sound deadener since i was in there.

subsequently replaced the rear door speakers since the new fronts exposed how crappy the stock speakers sounded with muddied bass and lack of clarity. again added sound deadener in there too.

no more rattling from the speaker, crisp, clear music that isn't drowned out by an overabundance of bass. also, slightly decreased road noise while driving around too (with only 25% coverage with deadener).

MDX is in dire need of a bath and the crappy weather isn't helping.

Scored a good deal on Motivo's at 4wo|nitto tires. I was told by my friends that these tires are good all weather tires like the Conti DWS. Hopefuly they will hold up great.

921 LED bulbs (2 pair in the new X)

I just installed 4-led marker bulbs in the license plate and as well as the front side marker lights (the little round ones that blink when you lock and unlock the car). Looks freaking fantastic!!

front bbk project

Lately i've been toying with the idea of installing the rear brembo cts-v calipers i bought for a friend i was supposed to use : 6 piston calipers on front and 4 piston calipers rear on his tl-sh-6mt...but he put a break on his car money...i only bought the 4 piston calipers on eBay yet. So i'm going to use them. TL-S calipers would also work, but more expensive (bought cts-v's for $200 on eBay with almost brand new brembo pads)

Being an Acura tech, i was able to get a front knuckle (from accidented mdx) and worn oem rotor to take some measures and testing. I also have a winter wheel that has its center a little off with the rest of the wheel because of a major pothole.

Currently testing with cts-v/camaro SS rear 14.4" rotor

I added a StowAway Max cargo box for the OEM hitch, added a Blazer C8020 Back-up Light/ Utility Light that plugs into the hitch harness for extra back-up lights at night, and upgraded the HIDs to Osram Xenarc 66240 D2S CBI. Getting ready for cross country trip to Jacksonville, FL, at the end of July.

Thinking about some acquisitions for the X. Currently looking at

2001-2013 Acura MDX Backup LEDs (pair) for better visibility. Has anyone tried these? I stumbled across them here

Also going to install my rear hitch by next weekend.

I've tried several different LED back-up lights on my X with disappointing results. The same LED upgrades worked great for my TSX and RDX; but, the MDX back-up lens cannot focus the light where needed on the ground.

I went the temporary cheap route with the Blazer C8020 Back-up Light/ Utility Light from Amazon for $17. I just plugs into the 7 pin OEM wiring harness. Good enough until I find a better solution.

^^the LEDs in the back up lights will help some, BUT the light needs to really be directed lower to help the camera in complete darkness. The upside is that you'll blind whoever is behind you and they will know you are backing up.
