Warranty HORROR - Please help if you can.
Just bought a '08 MDX Certified Pre-Owned. With it the Certified Pre-Owned 7yr/100k mile warranty.
During the financing, we were sold an additional Platinum Plan or extended warranty for the exact same term. We were informed that it basically covered everything else.
I'm confused and can't get a straight answer from the web or the dealer as to WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE PRE-OWNED AND EXTENDED WARRANTIES?
Please help me...

You should have recieved some paperwork, etc when purchasing that extended warranty. You may want to compare that info to this http://www.acura.com/index.aspx?init...rrantyCoverage
Is the extended warranty through a third party or is it an Acura extended warranty?
If it is the Acura extended warranty it is probably meant to cover everything the Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty does not cover. The CPO warranty probably covers power and drivetrain (engine and transmission). The extended may cover everything else, Navi, Electrical, etc.. Check all your paperwork.

J, I'm not sure where I see the horror in this...the 7yr/100K certified pre-owned warranty is for powertain only.
You purchased a bumper-to-bumper 7yr/100K warranty. Acura's factory b-2-b warranty is 4yr/50K miles, so you basically purchased an extra 3 years and 50K miles of b-2-b warranty.

Thank-you for your replies. I called the finance dept of the local dealership and found out that the powertrain warranty difference is nill. The non-powertrain warranty difference is really what I bought. It wraps the car for 7yrs/100k miles instead of 5yrs/62k miles.
Again thank-you for the help, I'm much better now.

If you ask me it is worth every penny, at least for the peace of mind.
