Wanting to buy a 07 MDX...

What are some things to look for when looking to purchase a used 07 MDX? I'm trying to find one w/ the Tech/Entertainment package along with the Power Hatch also.

I'm also trying to find one's that have been certified for the extra warranty since we will be keeping it for awhile. Also would it be best to just wait a few more months and try to get a leftover 08?

Thanks for the help...

07 and 08 are almost the same. The only way you will get the power tailgate on an 07 is to have the entertainment package. Easy way to spot this will be 2 cd slots on the radio. One next to the volume/tune knob and than another above it for the cd player. I would advise you to look for getting a sport, its a big difference...

What's the real difference in the sport? It's going to be the Wife's DD so I'm not sure how much spirited driving she will be doing.

sport has the preforated leather, textured trim, plus the amazing active dampers that can be firmed up or softened with a click of a button in milliseconds. If its just your wife's DD, I don't think she will need it, but if she drives like she stole it, she'll love em.

Well I e-mailed a dealer maybe looking for a leftover 08 that they want to get rid of and he quoted me $39,395.00 for a 08 w/ Tech/Entertainment/Power Liftgate before TTL.

Do you all think that's a good deal or can I talk them down more?

Yeah it does sound like a good deal, but I think we are going to wait till fall of next year to pull the trigger. Need to offload 1 vehicle before you can add another. This will also give the 07's to saturate the market more and possible get a better deal on a 07 that's certified.

Thanks for the help.........

Yeah, I want to save up some more and put a nice chunk down to lower the monthly payments.

I may add what csmeance left out on the sport. Auto-leveling xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, 5-spokes sport rims. Now if you go all the way with entertainment, you'll get, Acura DVD Rear Entertainment System with remote & wireless head phones with audio/video input, dual-level heated 2nd-row seats, 115-volt power outlet in front center console.

Yeah.........that's seems to be the best deal is to wait it out.

I'm planning on getting a MDX w/ Entertainment / Technology and power lift gate option.

i was at a small dealer's today whom I am friendly with and was looking online at the dealer auctions for MDX's in the U.S.. There were some decent 2004's with Nav and RES and miles from 65,000 to 85,000 miles going in the $13,000 to $14,000 range (dealer auction price). 2004-05 with 30,000 to 40,000 miles were in the $17,000-$20,000 depending.

2007-08's were $27,000 to $29,000. Hard to tell the condition...it looks like you are buying a car off of Cars.com but the cars are actually not cleaned up yet....I guess they don't care to do that at the dealer auctions.

Anyway I found that interesting that they could be got for that cheap.

Well that's nice that you could see what they are able to get at auction. Amazing with how much of a difference between the last gen and current ones are getting at the auctions.

not really that amazing considering you are comparing the value of a ~5 year old car (w/ 60-80k miles) to the value of a ~1 year old car...

my opinion

I think you should get a 08 tech/ent. they all come with power liftgate. There's such a great financing 0.9% or 2.9% on the new 08 and $4000 in dealer cash. Why would you go for 07 and pay highest interest?
They are selling really quick...I only have 3 left in my lot. It won't last more than a month I think.

Yeah, I believe it. It seems like for the price on a new 08 is the same price on a used 07.

Our local dealer still has a good amount of 08's left, only reason for me not to jump on it is I'm upside down on my current explorer. If I can take a little loss I might be all for it. Plus we just found out we will have a baby on the way.
