Type-S owner now also an 07 MDX owner
So my wife started talking about upgrading from her 05 Honda Civic, so I figured sh deserves it & we should go for it especially since my car got driven everywhere & had no space for larger items. Well after about 45 days of searching driving everything from 05s to 08s we decided on a black 07 MDX & we LOVE it. It looks very nice next to my Type-S. We paid $23k with 68k miles, let me know what you think. It is clean, one owner but not certified. We hear Acura is coming out with a post warranty, warranty which we'll be getting. Below are some pics of from the dealer's website but I will take more once I do my own wash. Feedback from Aziners welcome.

Well, you guys aren't going to believe this. After posting this, literally the next day at about noon the finance guy from this Dodge dealership calls me & says "guess what, the bank I thought I could put this through didn't take it so I had to go with a secondary option...now your payment will be $40 higher due to a jump in interest rate." Of course I was like WTH! I thought about it for a bit and said, it's just not worth it for a non certified. We have good credit so we went back to an Acura dealer & got an 07 certified, with 15k less miles than the black one above, same payment as the Dodge dealer's new higher payment...& the one from the Acura dealer cost $6k more but we got a rate nearly HALF of what the Dodge dealer was giving, used car sales men are nuts! We also got an MDX in MUCH better condition, tech package with NAV & are much happier with the deal. So now we are all set, can't believe those other guys would let me take the truck home one evening, then call back changing things up thinking I'd be dumb enough to fall for it. Pics of the real one we are keeping below...

The salesmen tried to hardball with me yet again today. I even did an oil change & cabin filter replacement for them. We are much happier with a certified purchase, 15k less miles & an MDX that rides even better than the black. Now time to browse the MDX pages.

You originally agreed to a rate nearly double 8%?
Nice looking MDX. We bought our '09 at McGrath in Westmont and found them excellent to deal with compared to the local guys (Continental) who are out of their minds with their pricing.

Congrats. Great combo. This would be the route I'm taking. Looking for an '07 MDX with 3rd row (big family haha) to replace my wife's '04 Honda Pilot, and to match with my '07 Type S.

Wow, that is crazy. At least it worked out and you came out better in the end with a better vehicle.
How do you like the size and utility so far? I'm going to be making a similar change within the next year (TSX to probably RDX or MDX), and I'm a little apprehensive about the size difference, coming from a 1G TSX.
With each weekend that passes, it becomes more and more clear that my little car is not going to cut it anymore. My rear bumper gained a battle wound from a trip to Lowes today. The bags of top soil went in the trunk ok, but the pitch fork scraped the bumper as I was trying to steer the damn cart around to the back. My fault, of course, but it hurts nonetheless.

Interesting to see so many of us with the same rides. Great combination with the Type S and the MDX. Best cars we have ever owned.

Nice color!! I had a chance to keep a loaner TL type S over the weekend while the dealer detailed my new MDX back when I bought it in 08. The TL was a solid ride. I really miss it.
