I woulkd like to rotate tires on my 09 MDX. Do i need to reset TPMS sensors by the dealer or they reset by itself. Thanx.

You don't have to worry about resetting anything. All Hondas and Acuras with TPMS have receivers called "initiators" which automatically detect the tire closest to them. They are located in each corner of the vehicle.

One issue I noticed is that you can't change out the TPMS sensor on the newer Honda. So if you have a winter and a summer set of tires, you have to have a dealer update you TPMS code (or buy one of those TPMS code banks to download your current code and then change out the tires and new TPMS at the dealer and download the second set of codes to your TPMS code bank
. I don't know if and Acura is like that. I have an 04 MDX but I never changed the TPMS tires like I did on my Honda.

Wrong, only SOME Honda's and Acura's are equipped with initiators. Those without them still need to be re-programmed at the dealer like the civic, accord, and some odyssey's.

Wrong again, unlike the civic or accord, the MDX DOES have initiator type sensors that don't need to be programmed. The system WILL automatically adapt to new sensors or if the wheels are rotated without the need to visit a dealer.

Thanks for the clarification. I misspoke (or miswrote). I was replying to the OP who had an '09 MDX, which does have initiators and does not have to be reprogrammed.

Well I meant for a newer HONDA (I meant Accord). I have that problem when I installed HFP wheels with new TPMS. The dealer wanted $100 to reprogram the car. So I put the old TPMS on the 19" HFP and I have no problems.

I've had no problem rotating my tires on my 04 MDX.
