Question Throttle Postion Sensor on my 2004 Acura MDX Touring

Hello, I am trying to fix my Throttle Postioning Sensor myself without replacing the entire body. A mechanic said he would remove it and clean it up to see if it would work and then I would not have to replace the entire throttle body, as some may know the sensor is not sold alone by the dealer, they make you buy the whole kit which is over $600.00. My car has 166,000 miles and it runs great and I am a girlie girl and I am attached to my imacculate car. So any advice would be greatly appreciated it.

APP sensor is bad, not the throttle body.
