Acura Navi Freezing / Non-Responsive

Looking for some help here. I'm not able to get past the "OK" screen on my '06 MDX. It had been a sporadic problem but it's happening more regularly now. I cannot use the voice commands to get past the "OK". I can push the INFO button to get to that screen but am not able to go any further. It sometimes happens, but not too often, where I'm able to get past the OK screen then after some time the unit doesn't respond to touch screen. I've gone for periods as long as two weeks where the unit has been in this state then had periods of maybe a week or so where the unit is functioning normally.

I've brought it to the dealer who replaced the Control Unit with a remanufactured unit even though the warranty had expired. After a week or so, the problems return. My gut tells me that it's not the control unit

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks.

Peter

I had two acuras suffer from a slow-dying radio. And now my wife's 03 MDX is doing the same thing as yours. I cant explain it. Ill keep tabs on this thread and if any headway is made, I'll shoot it this way. I suspect total failure. Just go aftermarket and keep the original for back-up incase you ever sell or total your car.

Thanks for the response. I've got to imagine that there are more people who've had this problem. I too will post any updates.

You're not suposed to be able to use voice command until you're in the system (map mode). The lawyer's disclaimer has to be always answered by manual means, in your case touch the word OK. Even the 2010 has to be answered manually for the system to go beyond the lawyer's disclaimer.

I understand the disclaimer (pioneer has the same things with their doubledin audio/video decks). Has anyone run into the screen freezing issue where everytime the car is started it asks for the password and freezes after you enter the first digit??????????? For the love of god, someone has surely had this happen to them and fixed it without buying a new deck from acura. PLEASE POST!
