Rear hatch wont self close...
/// cross posted ///
As of a few weeks ago,
The rear hatch will not self [power] close, either with the button in the driver door or the one located above your head when the hatch is open, or even with the remote.
You CAN open the hatch with either the remote or the driver door button..and get the single -beep- as it opens ... but you will need to close it manually.
I have removed and reinstalled the fuse.. nothing..
Any trouble shooting ideas appreciated

Additional observation:
Correct me if im wrong, but our latch has a powered/mechanical grab when the latch touches the locking mechanism..
This doesnt seem to be active any longer.
How are these two systems be co-related?

Check Fuse # 3-6 under the hood, from the diagram in booklet i cant make out if its a single fuse or 3. It covers following - Power Tailgate Opener/closer, Rear ACC socket, interior light & rear defroster.
If there are multiple fuses in that location then one of them could be the culprit.

yes, issue was resolved....
root cause unknown...
the problem appeared after my DX got oil sprayed.. it stopped working about 2 weeks after the spray and refused to work until late the next spring, when some direct sunshine/heat was applied.
Then it came back to life...

Thanks jean, I also had the car oil sprayed but did not connect the two issues. Since it is a closing issue my theory is that the oil spray is causing resistance that the pinch sensor sees as a jam so when it heated up for you it reduced the resistance. Maybe needs a good cleaning. I will investigate. Thanks.
