Navigation options disabled. Possible lose radio connection
Hi everyone,
My 2009 MDX Tech Package is having a strange problem. Some of the navigation options like (address book, go home) etc have become disabled. And every option, including radio/CD appear to take a lot 'longer'. I found how to access a menu by pressing cancel+setup+info and reset the navigation SRAM and re-entered the code but the issue persists.
This happens with both keys which are both linked. I've verified that when I unlock using either key I get the 'Welcome driver 1 or driver 2' message.
I found that when i check the radio unit, it gives me an "NG" error code as shown in the pic. From a google search o found that this points to a loose radio connection between the. Navigation and radio unit. I took out the radio and found no loose connection.
Also, the navigation diagnostic test shows the “radio” section as red. Which indicates the same issue.
i don’t want to take it to the dealer as they will probably want me to replace the radio unit for thousands.
Any tips or help is appreciated.
