Musty/Smoke smell

I have a 2007 MDX. When we get in the car, it smells like a smokers car. Has anyone experienced this problem? The MDX has never been smoked in, we have had it for less then 2 years.

?????

carbon from the exhaust?

i don't know what it could be unless someone who smokes is joy riding in your car...

try using fabreze on all the carpets and condition the leather this may help... also the a/c is known to make musty smells if it hasn't been used in a while.

cant hurt to ask the dealer

Maybe someone is secretly breaking into your MDX and smoking a cigarette when you're not looking?

If you run the AC you should turn it off and blast the vents on full power a few blocks before your stop... otherwise condensation builds up in the hoses and you can start to get mildew. Not sure this is your problem, but it could be. Definitely talk to the dealer.

Interesting, I made an appontment, and that is exactly what the service advisor said. When I spend $45,000 on a new car, I should be able to run the AC till I shut the car off without issue. I have never experienced this with any car I have owned. My Audi smells the same as the day I bought it... Oh well.

Make sure your dealership of choice does the fix corretly by spraying "WURTH" in the intake part of the AC system. Spraying it in the dash vents IS NOT THE CORRECT FIX BUT A SHORT CUT! Check this stuff out at www.wurth.com. I condition my systems every beggining of the summer. Your NOT ALONE!
