More GPS blues...
My sat radio trial will expire soon. I called Sirius to find out about renewing traffic and weather only. It costs freaking $8 a month! It's insane. I will stick with my trusty Google Maps free and far more accurate traffic reporting.

I've been an XM subscriber since I purchased my TSX new in 06. I dropped XM once and went back to it after 6 months. I do a lot of traveling in both cars (06 TSX +95,000 miles & 08 RDX +84,000 miles). Once I leave the city limits, I am quickly out of range of FM and my iPhone drops to 3G or down to 2G Edge network until I get to next metro area 4-8 hours away. You can only listen to 18GB of songs on the iPhone for soon long before it starts to repeat itself. I like XM because it gives the family a constant signal and a good mix of news, sports, comedy, and music no matter where we are at in the southwest.
I will admit the XM weather and traffic are a waste of money. Smart phones pretty much made this XM feature useless.

I just renewed the XM Premier package (all channels including Stern, Playboy, etc) for $34.44 for a 5 month "promotional" special on one of my other vehicles. They original wanted $100.89 for 12 months of the select package which was reduced from their original $170.00 price. When I told them to cancel the service, this is the price they came up with.
I have a 6 month "promotional" Premier package on the 2012 MDX which I got in September after the free trial ended then. I paid $42.37 for that one, so even though the renewal on the other one was only for 5 months, the month fee was about the same Both prices include tax and royalty fees.
All the expiration dates are marked on my calender several days in advance of their experation. I can renegotiate or cancel at that time without forgetting and being charged the full $170.00 per year that XM charges for their select programming.
I believe they had quoted a price of about $10.00 less if I went with just the select package, but for the extra money I signed up for all of the channels.
