So the time has come to trade in the TL and go for an MDX. Problem is, I have always followed the TL and know very ilttle about the MDX as far as pricing, model and when they change generations. The on the road pricing for the 2011 tech model is about $60K on the road. I see a few 70-80 km used MDX's for around $35-$42K. Here are my questions:

1. What year did the last gen of MDX's start?

2. If I do buy a 2008, are there things that I should look out for? (ie. the gen 2 of TL's had a transmission recall, that sort of thing).

3. When is the next gen of MDX set to hit the market and what year model will it be?

I've heard that MDX is supposed to be redesigned for 2013 model.

It is my understanding that the 2nd gen started in 2007. The 2007+ will have the newer SH-AWD which is supposed to be a lot stronger than the 1 gen trans. I am actually picking up a 2006 tomorrow. I'm praying it doesn't have the trans problems I have been reading about. It seems like it mostly effects the early 2000-03.
