The only difference between a 10 MDX and 13 MDX with the same mileage is just the manufacture date and the higher Blue Book value for the 13. Acura made almost zero changes between the 4 years the 10-13 model years were in production except offering Gray-stone interior as an option for certain models for the 12-13 MDXs.
The only way I can tell the difference between a 10-13 MDX Base/Tech -vs- Adv models are from 19" rim and plastic cover in the center of the grill for the ACC/CMBS on the Adv models.

My 11 MDX Adv is my main traveling car at +20,000 miles per year. ACC is an outstanding feature for long hwy runs. You just have to stay between the lines and I use the paddles to downshift for faster acceleration when the ACC is trying to get back to cruising speed during slow downs. I've even had the CMBS kick in a few times on the hwy faster than I could get on the brakes with auto braking, tug of the seat belt, and warning lights/bells. My next vehicle purchase must include ACC, CMBS, and cooled seats.

Engine burns oil and the 6AT had known shifting issues..
Granted one of those is fixed by a software update but the early 2G didn´t have an issue mechanically wise, thus the facelift model is lesser.

Also never faced any issues with 6AT.
I am approaching 50k (at 48k now) so just want to make sure I am prepared for any surprises.

I have seen you refer to the Oil issue multiple times but I have not seen this, granted I don't check my oil by dipstick and go only by MID. How frequent and serious is this issue? as i haven't faced any issues so far on my 11 MDX other than steering wheel judder which was fixed by a TSB. Do I need to keep checking oil?

You may already have the Transmission software update thus you dont have those problems.
As for the engine burning oil? You are not yet in the troublesome mileage, The users that reported the burning issues are above 80K mileage. Some have claimed that their facelift MDX does not burn oil but the overwhelming amount of users that reported the issue are far too many to call it "A possibility". The 4G TL that uses the same J37 is also known to burn oil.
As for checking your oil, DO NOT NEGLECT IT! Check your oil levels at the very least once every month. Honda says to check oil levels at Each fill up.

I'm at +103,000 miles on my 11 MDX with around 2/3 quarts of oil between my 8000 miles oil changes with Mobil 1 5w-20 high mileage. I've had my MDX since 2014 with 30K on the odo and the oil usage has always been the same amount per changes. The oil consumption issue is more miss than hit; but, when it hits IT REALLY HITS. I just couldn't pass up the +10 MDX updated styling, entertainment tech, safety tech, and 6AT compared to the 07-09 models.
