Should I contact an Acura dealer for another key and key fob? Stupid used dealer had only the one key.

I also just purchased an 01 MDX and only received one remote w/ all of the keys. I am going to get another key fob, however on the back of the remote user 1 or 2 is rubbed off. Do I have to make sure that I get the opposite one? If I do, how do I tell which one I have since it is rubbed off?

Any help would be great.

I had to on my '04 so I'm guessing the answer is "yes".

Program the memory settings differently and see which one the remote sets it to.

If you don't mind another used remote you can find them on eBay for a lot cheaper than the dealer.

For the key, if you don't care about having an Acura logo key then take your current key to a local locksmith and have them "clone" it. It will be much cheaper than buying a new key and having it cut and programmed at the dealer.

I just bought a 06 with only the #one key fob. I will search ebay. My question is can a key fob be programed to either 1 or 2 if I get a used fob. Or do I have to find a #2 key fob? I'm very exicited by the way. This suv is so nice. I'll put pictures up as soon as my forum waiting period is up.

Congrats and welcome!
You have to find a #2 key fob (if you have #1 already).
They key fob can be programmed by you (takes about 5 mins). I bought mine for the 1st gen off of eBay. The seller included the instructions for programming the key fob.
