Interior whistling noise

2006 MDX has an intermittent very short whistling noise which seems totally random heard easily by both driver and front passenger. Might be coming from dash area. So random that taking it to dealer is waste of time. Any ideas; I know it is long shot. Probably have to wait until it becomes steady or something breaks.

I have had a similar whistle from both the wipers not parking consistantly and the trim coming loose around the windsheild. Does the noise change with speed or engine RPM?

The 2nd gen X had a TSB related to a whistling noise caused by the blower unit. You might want to give that a try.

Do you notice the whistling noise when the A/C is turned on while you're driving/accelerating? 3rd gen CR-V has that problem too, along with the TSX mentioned above. there should be a TSB for it, call your Acura maintenance dept up and ask about it. In my CR-V the dealer fixed it but I still hear whistling with the A/C on, it's just not as invasive as before.

Yes, the noise seems only to occur when A/C is on. Should I just mention to dealer that there is a TSB about blower motor? Anyplace I can actually view the bulletin?

It's probably the serpentine belt.

A/C noise

There is a TSB on this problem.... I have delt with problem since the MDX was new... I was told it was the windshield seal, door seal , blower unit , mixer door etc. The dealer finally replaced the blower unit with a new modified one ( so they say) still does it ... I gave up..... One time they actually wired the re-circulation door open to prevent the whistling noise.... it work but had fresh air all the time.... I busted them on that one... Well my MDX just turned over 100k and it still does this at 70mph with the re circulation on. The tsb fix is a new blower unit.

What year is yours, the tsb I've seen is for 2007-2008.

I've had the same exact issue with my 2007 MDX - (70 & above on recirc). Considered dealer service...however sometimes "the cure is worse than the disease.
