Front Hitch for 1st or 2nd Gen MDX
I searched the forums but found no information so I'm asking. The subject is FRONT trailer hitch.
I'm considering a 1st or 2nd Gen MDX as a tow vehicle. I like them better than the Pilots for various reasons. I need Front trailer hitch. These are made for 1st Gen Pilots and the same part number fits the 1st Gen Ridgeline. It's unclear to me whether it will fit 1st G MDX, but given the shared structure with the Pilot, you would assume it would fit.
Trailer hitch dealers look at me like I'm a alien when I ask the question. Most are unfamiliar with front hitches to begin with.
Actually I prefer the 2nd Gen MDX and there is no information at all online about a front hitch. Of course there is a front hitch for the 2nd Gen Pilot, grrr, but no one so far has been able to answer my question.
Help!

I dunno... I dont trust a hitch mounted into a floating subframe, Seems kinda weak…
If you are considering the MDX for towing by all means get the 2nd gen (Specially the 2010-2013 models with their 6th speed), The extra oomph form the engine and Updated HD Transmission in the 2G MDX makes it the obvious choice against the 1st gens Pilot and MDX.. If going for the Pilot the 2nd gen has the upgraded HD Transmission too.

Front hitch
The tasks for the front hitch are modest in force, but useful enough that I'm looking for a vehicle that can mount one. Of course real trucks can do this, but that's overkill for 90% of my needs.
The primary task for the front hitch is to back up bigger trailers (boats, etc.) into narrow places. If you've ever done this with a front hitch it is much easier than with a conventional hitch. The force to the vehicle is not that much given low speed 5 mph and short tasks involved on flat ground.
The main reason I prefer the 2nd Gen is the "fragile as glass" 1st Gen 5 speed automatics, even in their revised form. I understand 2nd gen MDX/Pilot transmissions are based on the stouter 2005 RL transmission design.

Unsnap some of the plastic under-covers, from under the front bumper and drive it to an RV Sales lot, which has its own service center.
The service dept. can put it up on a rack and tell you if they have what you need, especially if you tell them that you are interested in a $225,000 RV to pull it with.

How much vertical load (tongue weight) of the front load are you hauling? The front hitches are not going to give you much. The pilot gets 350LBS MAX and that's excluding all the accessory hardware needed:
