2011 Mdx adv. exhaust smell when windows are any amount open

My ‘11 mdx sends exhaust into car when windows down at any amount. The aerodynamics of mdx is swirling the exhaust upwards and then eddies to any open window. It doesn’t have an exhaust leak and the plugs in the rear tire well are secure. It was cold the other day and I got on it a bit when leaving house and could see the exhaust swirl up the rear gate and then that’s when the aerodynamic idea popped in my head. I noticed a newer mdx today and saw no exhaust. Acura has moved exhaust tip to under bumper and 90d the tip downward, so this seems like they acknowledged issue and changed for newer models. Anyone else noticed this issue?

it's a trend for all auto makers to have fake tips and to have the exhaust dump 90 degrees down.
not sure if it was a remedy for your situation, but Almost ALL auto makers have done this.

really curious on the reason why auto makers started this trend.
My family has a 2012 Kia Sportage with no exposed tips out of the bumper, and the exhaust gets dumped down before the bumper.

very short google searches lead me to "more creative design with fake tips"
and with a guess, it has nothing to do with exhaust fumes coming back into the cabin..
as fake tips do not get hot, so a designer can place the fake tip closer to the bumper without any fear of melting

Have you looked at your PCV valve?

If it is out you will smell exhaust in your cab.

Here's another video about PCV valves:

2011 PCV valve location MDX

I’ll have to check that but it’s only when windows are open and I’m accelerating. This could I guess exacerbate the oil ring consumption issue tho
