2010 MDX Advance - Ventilated Seat Issue
I recently purchased a beautiful Black on Umber 2010 MDX Advance and was incredibly excited to have ventilated seats again. I was disappointed to find that while I can hear the fans come on, neither the driver nor the passenger seat has ANY air coming through the perforations in the seats. I went under the seats and can tell the fans are functioning just fine however they both appear to pull air in from below the seat and are both blowing air out the side. I can feel this rather decent amount of air blowing out the side and just randomly off into nowhere. There is some kind of plastic around the fan that I can't tell if it belongs or if it's torn and I can't see any other way the part where the fan blows air connects to anything else.
I've seen a few people on forums suggest the seats pull air down through the perforations rather than blow air up through them, but I don't think that is the case based on the way the fan is mounted
Has anyone else had this experience or have any suggestions to offer? I'm taking it to the local dealership later this week but would love to know what I'm walking into before I add that my list. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

The A/C seats are not the greatest design with computer tower fans for cooling. You also have to wear breathable clothing to feel the cooling effects on your backside. Stuff like jeans or a windbreaker jacket will reduce air flow from the seats. They can help on the hottest days to atleast keep your back side from sweating too much. Not a big night and day difference between my TSX (graystone) and RDX (taupe) with just perforated seats

I believe the fans are pushing air through but are in fact pulling heat from you. That's why they say ventilated and not cooled seats. Like they said above in extreme heat it helps in terms sweating (as bad) but not gonna freeze your bottom off if that is what you were hoping for.
