2003 CL-S Rims on 2005 MDX
I have a set of 2003 CL-S rims that I was thinking of using on the MDX for snow tires. Would the offset be okay? Are they sturdy enough? I would have to buy the tire pressure sensors

The stock 2005 MDX wheel is 17" x 6.5" with a 45mm offset. The 2003 CL Type-S wheel is 17" x 7" with a 55mm offset (both have the same 5 x 114.3mm bolt pattern). So I'm not certain there's enough brake clearance with 10mm closer wheels (the MDX's AWD may be an issue as well).
Also, you may need hub-rings unless the CL-S wheel matches the 64.15mm hub of the 01-06 MDX. Most Honda/Acura wheels have the 64.15mm hub, but if not, the wheels will vibrate (without hub rings). I'm also not certain if the 2003 CL-S wheel's stem opening can take TPMS.
Have you thought about a used set of 18" RDX wheels? (they definitely fit + can take TPMS). You can get them relatively cheap on eBay...food for thought...

I wasn't sure how the offset and the all wheel drive system would affect things. In terms of 18" RDX, I would rather stick with 17" for snow tires, I was even thinking of downsizing to 16", but I'm not sure if I could get steelies that would clear the brakes or not. I'm not sure about TPMS either. Do the Honda Ridgeline 17" have TPMS? I've seen some guys use the Honda rims on their MDXs.
On the CL-S I got lucky with the combo of the offset of my OZ superleggeras and CT drop not having any rubbing issues with wider than stock tires! I think the 03 cl-s rims should match the hub of the MDX.

Honda Ridgelines are 5 x 120mm (same as the Odyssey), which will fit the 2007+ MDX but not the 2001-2006 models (5 x 114.3).
If you're looking for a Honda OEM wheel, most of the 17" 5 x 114.3 Honda Accord wheels are 55mm offset, but the 5 x 114.3 Civic wheels are 45mm offset - this includes the 16" EX wheel (5-spoke) and the 17" Si wheel as well...both of which can take your TPMS. And also the Acura 16" and 17" RSX wheels will fit as well (5 x 114.3 with 45mm offset).
Here's an example of 4 xlnt condition 16" RSX wheels for $380 including shipping - not bad

I know it's been a while...but I thought I should update. The OEM CL-s rims work fine. I mounted snow tires on them and there have been no rubbing/vibration issues; they fit on fine. In fact it got rid of the shuddering in the steering wheel I had been feeling with the all-seasons... they probably needed to be balanced.

^ Glad it worked out for you! Any photos of the CL-S wheels on the MDX? I'm trying to picture it in my head, but would love to see a picture or two.

I will take some pics this week. Hopefully I can remember my logon and password for site I used for image hosting (been a few years since I last posted any pics up lol) The rims make the truck look a little sportier, but they don't stick out at you.

fk those tl rims don't look too bad.. lol..
btw.. if the offset is 10mm out on the CL-S but 0.25" wider from the center then it should almost be the same, definitely enough clearance room. Agreed, post up some pics.
